"My name is Lampy. I'm just an ordinary object living in an object show world. And my hobby is… pretending I don't like games. / People don't really understand me, but that's okay, because I'm me and that's all that really matters."
- Lampy, Introducing Lampy
Lampy is the protagonist of ProtOS. They are on the team Fuck. They do not have a confirmed gender, but have been referred to by he/him pronouns.1
Appearance
Lampy is a lamp with a light-colored lampshade, a darker pole, and a pull switch inside of it. They appear to be turned on most of the time.
Personality
Lampy's favorite hobby is pretending that they don't like games. This hobby started from the fact that they used to be in a friend group with people who love games, but after Lampy realised they weren't compatible with Bamboo, one of the members of the group, they decided to pretend that they'd pretend to hate games to disassociate themself from the group.
Later on, Lampy would be placed back with the friend group on team Fuck. They are very displeased by this, and oftentimes vocalise this.
Despite the fact that Lampy is dedicated to their facade, they also play a significant part in their team winning, often more than other members. This has lead to Lampy's supposed disdain towards games being questioned, particularly by Bamboo.
However, it is also shown that Lampy’s insistence on keeping up their facade actively puts a strain on their relationships. Metro Card expresses their distaste for the way that Lampy treats their teammates all in the name of keeping their “secret,” but Lampy continues to show that they value their facade over the wellbeing of their teammates.
They also appear to be quite self centered, as shown by them, as previously stated, wanting people to continue to think they don’t like games rather than caring for their teammates. This is also shown as whenever Fuck is up for elimination, Lampy walks off whenever they’re safe instead of waiting around to see who on their team gets eliminated. They also choose to ignore others when they bring up gripes with them instead of hearing them out and working to solve the problem.
